On July 16, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou (China), in collaboration with L\u1ef1c H\u1ee3p Technology Services Co., Ltd., organized a seminar titled \u201cPromoting Cooperation and Investment in the Circular Economy, New Energy, and Future Technologies between Vietnam and China\u201d in Shenzhen<\/p>\n\n

This event attracted a large number of enterprises, organizations, and experts from Guangdong Province and neighboring localities, engaged in fields such as new energy, low-carbon environmental protection, transportation infrastructure development, urban planning and design, as well as the manufacturing and supply of clean and new energy vehicles…<\/p>\n\n

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Nguyen Viet Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, emphasized that 2025 marks an important milestone \u2014 the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Vietnam\u2013China Year of People-to-People Exchange. In this context, Guangdong Province and its major cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen play a strategic role in promoting practical, comprehensive, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Nguyen Viet Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, emphasized that 2025 is an important milestone, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Vietnam\u2013China Year of People-to-People Exchange. In this context, Guangdong Province and its cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen hold a strategic role in fostering practical, comprehensive, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n

Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung affirmed that economic and trade relations are an important pillar of Vietnam\u2013China relations. According to data from China Customs, bilateral trade in the first five months of 2025 reached USD 112.6 billion, up 10.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Guangdong Province ranks first in China in terms of trade relations with Vietnam, while the billion-population nation has also remained Vietnam\u2019s largest trading partner for many consecutive years.<\/p>\n\n

In terms of investment, China currently ranks sixth among more than 150 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with 5,683 projects across provinces and cities nationwide. Notably, Chinese enterprises are clearly shifting their investment focus toward high-tech industries, electronic component manufacturing, the automotive industry, and clean energy \u2014 sectors that Vietnam is facilitating and encouraging for development. Many major corporations such as Goertek and BYD are actively expanding their production and investment in Vietnam. These figures and trends affirm that there is still significant potential for economic cooperation between enterprises from both sides.<\/p>\n\n

In the trend of shifting toward sustainable growth, Vietnam places high priority on developing the economy in connection with environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and technological innovation. To achieve this goal, the Vietnamese government has issued a set of important policies and laws that not only affirm its commitment to pursuing sustainable development but also establish a favorable legal framework to mobilize social and international resources, aiming to build a comprehensive and efficient circular economy.<\/p>\n\n

Vietnam is also accelerating digital transformation and innovation. High-tech zones in major provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Da Nang are opening up significant opportunities for businesses to invest in AI, semiconductors, automation, clean energy, and future technologies.<\/p>\n\n

At the seminar, Mr. Tr\u1ea7n T\u1ea5n S\u1ef9, Vice General Director of KN Holdings Joint Stock Company, shared information on the market, policies, and development goals in Vietnam\u2019s science and technology sector in connection with the company\u2019s industrial park and high-tech zone projects. He also expressed the hope that Chinese enterprises would choose the company\u2019s industrial parks and high-tech zones as entry points for investment in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n

On their part, representatives of Chinese enterprises attending the seminar provided an overview of their potential and strengths, while also praising Vietnam\u2019s development, viewing it as a promising and priority market in the \u201cGo Global\u201d strategy of Chinese businesses. \\Among these, Chinese enterprises expressed strong interest in cooperation in the fields of new energy, low-carbon environmental protection, transportation infrastructure development, urban planning and design, and the manufacturing and supply of clean and new energy vehicles.<\/p>\n\n

Chinese enterprises also expressed their hope that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou would continue to facilitate and support greater engagement and exchanges with local authorities, industry associations, and potential Vietnamese enterprises in science and technology sectors where China has strengths, aligning with Vietnam\u2019s needs and development strategy. This aims to promote substantive cooperation between the business communities of both sides, contributing to the advancement of friendly Vietnam\u2013China relations.<\/p>\n\n

At the conclusion of the seminar, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung affirmed that Vietnam always welcomes Chinese enterprises and investors in general, and those from Guangdong Province in particular, especially in areas such as new energy, low-carbon environmental protection, smart transportation infrastructure, urban planning and design, water and waste management, and the manufacturing and supply of green energy vehicles. The Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou identified these sectors as priority areas for promoting cooperation between enterprises from the two countries in the near future. He also affirmed that the Consulate General will always accompany and serve as an effective bridge, providing maximum support for enterprises from both countries to develop together, fostering sustainable, substantive, and mutually beneficial cooperation.<\/p>\n\n
